RVA Beer Explorer
RVA Beer Explorer’s Weekly Picks
The week stretches before us. A long winding road. A winding road full of beer and beer related activities. Here is where we’ll be traveling.
LET’S DO THIS
HYPE’s Neighborhood Series: Fulton – Triple Crossing Fulton, Today Tuesday
I’m really digging Triple Crossing’s slate of events lately.
HYPE introduces its second annual RVA Neighborhood series. Each event will highlight a Richmond neighborhood working towards a greater community through collaboration and growth. There is so much to learn and so far to go… let’s continue the conversation and learn more about how we, as Richmond’s next generation of leaders, can be part of this change. Join us as we hear from local leaders, organizations, foodies and developers doing great things in our neighborhoods while continuing to push forward.
Free for HYPE Subscribers
$20 for non-HYPE SubscribersNeighborhood series subscription available for non-HYPE subscribers: $50 for all three “HYPE Neighborhood Series” Events
Southern Fried Drag and Variety Bruch – Strangeways, Sunday
Mother’s Day is sure to be a total “drag” at Strangeways Brewing this Sunday
Happy Hour with WCVE – Ardent Brewing, Friday
Public radio is a valuable asset on our audio landscape and well worth supporting. On Friday you can join the staff of WCVE and celebrate all that support. You can even be more supportive at that earlier link and donate.
Grab a drink with the 88.9 WCVE staff in celebration of a successful spring Pledge Drive! Come meet the folks who bring you news, music and more from your favorite public radio station.
While at the Happy Hour, you can purchase a collectible 88.9 WCVE mug designed by listener Robert Brossart for only $10. See you there!
Truckle Cheesemongers – Castleburg, Saturday
I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t that pop-up cheese shops were a thing but I’m glad I know now. Judging by Truckle Cheesemongers’ Facebook they know their beer and cheese.
Truckle Cheesemongers, RVA’s best pop up cheese shop, will be storming the castle with their thoughtful selection of amazing cheeses, many of which aren’t currently found elsewhere in Richmond. They will be paired perfectly with Castleburg’s Craft Beer.
Now Hiring Full-Time Cellarman – Center of the Universe
Obviously this doesn’t fall into our event column but we figure it can’t hurt to know someone on the inside. Apply here and if you get the job, you know where to find us.
NEW BEER TO DRINK
Hardywood’s Boysenberry Berliner Weisse is a fruited variation of their Berliner Weisse. It’s a river beer y’all. If you do take it to the river you better take all your trash out with you or the Beer and River Gods will smite thee. The beer will be available at Hardywood on Saturday, May 13th.
