Easter Weekend is upon us, and that means Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue, Family Easter at Maymont, and the summer-long return of Butterflies LIVE! at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden.
Butterflies LIVE! at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden
One of the most unique annual events at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden kicks off Friday. Butterflies LIVE! will allow visitors to discover a variety of butterflies on the beautiful grounds as they transform it into a wonderland of vibrant colors and captivating sights. The exhibit changes all the tiem, so every time you visit, you’re likely to see something new. The exhibit is indoors, where you can get up close and personal with hundreds of tropical butterflies as they feed, flutter, and take flight all around you. Explore their origins, preferred habitats and lifecycles.

Dominion Family Easter at Maymont
This annual family event is a Richmond tradition. Visit Maymont’s Carriage House Lawn for tons of family-friendly activities including an egg hunt, crafts and games, a bonnet parade, visits with the Easter Bunny, live entertainment, food, and more.

Easter on Parade on Monument Avenue
Easter on Parade returns to Monument Avenue between Allen and Davis this Sunday, April 16th. Each year, more than 25,000 people converge upon the four-block site to celebrate the arrival of spring and the beauty of Monument Avenue, taking this once-a-year opportunity to stroll in the streets, which are closed to vehicular traffic. Music, arts, crafts, children’s activities, food, balloon artistry, a petting zoo, and of course, people and pet watching all are a part of the celebration which is, literally, a parade of Richmonders.
