The Original Harlem Globetrotters return to the Richmond Coliseum Friday evening. With a star-studded roster, you’ll be on the edge of your seat to witness the ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that has thrilled fans of all ages for decades.

Shamrock The Block in Scott’s Addition

The official unofficial start to festival season in RVA is upon us–Shamrock The Block. The annual street festival in Scott’s Addition draws a crowd of thousands to The Boulevard. Expect beer trucks featuring brews from the neighborhood and food vendors from the Scott’s Addition area and beyond. Live music opens the festival at noon with ’80s party band Totally Random taking the stage, followed by Redneck Pool Party. There will be a kids’ area with face-painting, moonwalks and other inflatables, games, and more. Leashed pets are welcome.

Virginia Wine Expo at the Richmond Convention Center

Standing in line for beer outside not your thing? Stand in line inside for wine at the Virginia Wine Expo! Over 650 wines will be available for sampling from wineries across the country, along with specialty food products like chocolates, olive oils, vinegars, cheeses, and more. There are add-on packages available including Burger Blast, which will allow you to sample various sliders from Richmond area vendors Friday evening, a brunch package at Belle & James, and more.

Richmond Bluegrass Jam at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen

The 8th annual Richmond Bluegrass Jam will bring together over 30 regional bluegrass bands to The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen this Saturday on three stages. In addition, there will be local food trucks, beer, kids’ activities, and much more. There are even open jam sessions, so bring your instruments! The festival benefits Richmond Fisher House, a home for military families to stay while their veterans and soldiers are at the VA medical center.
