Local brewery helps couple push up wedding date after bride’s brother diagnosed with cancer
Strangeways Brewing helped Kristen and Brandon Ivory celebrate their wedding with the help of many other local vendors.
A local brewery helped one local couple tie the knot sooner than they had planned, all so the bride’s little brother could take part in one of the happiest days of their lives.
Strangeways Brewing hosted the wedding reception of Kristen and Brandon Ivory, who pushed up their October wedding to March after Kristen’s brother Beckett was diagnosed with stage four Ewings Sarcoma, a cancer that occurs in and around the bones.
“It was our honor to host the wedding reception of Kristen and Brandon Ivory tonight,” the brewery posted on its Facebook page. “This beautiful couple chose to push up their October wedding so the bride’s little brother Beckett could be a part of the celebration.”
The post went on to thank the local vendors who came together with less than a month’s notice to put on the event, including Strawberry Fields Flowers & Finds, Paisley & Jade, DJ Hunter Omohundro, and I.K. Catering.
The family has set up a GoFundMe campaign to support Beckett’s fight, hoping to raise $80,000 for treatments and other needs. So far, the fundraiser has garnered around $38,000.
