Rush Hour concert at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery

Maybe attending a Richmond Symphony performance is a little too buttoned up for you on a Friday evening, or you’d just rather drink some great beer. Why not do both? The symphony is teaming up with Hardywood for another Rush Hour concert at the brewery. This one hour, informal concert takes place in the taproom. Food trucks will be on hand, too. Sounds like a perfect evening.

When: Friday, February 17th; 6:30 PM | Where: Hardywood Park Craft Brewery in Scott’s Addition | Cost: $15 | More info: Ticketing website

Environmental Film Festival screening at The Byrd Theatre

The majority of the Richmond Environmental Film Festival might have taken place last weekend, but there’s one more showing this Saturday at the Byrd Theatre in Carytown. “Catching The Sun” will be screened at 1:30 PM. Before the film, Drive Electric RVA will exhibit several electric cars in front of the Byrd and demonstrate how they operate. The organization advocates for renewable energy and promotes EVs as a fun, practical transportation alternative that also reduces energy consumption and air pollution. After the film, Aaron Sutch from Virginia Solar United Neighborhoods will speak on the new Solar Co-op and Charles Gerena from Drive Electric RVA will speak on The Zero Emission Transportation Equation. Speakers will welcome questions from the audience.

When: Saturday, February 18th; 1:30 PM | Where: The Byrd Theatre, 2908 W. Cary Street in Carytown | Cost: FREE | More info: Event website

Stone Brewing Richmond’s first birthday

Can you believe it’s been a year since Stone Brewing opened in Richmond? The massive brewery is celebrating its first anniversary in town with a party on Saturday and a new beer release. Stone teamed up with Ardent Craft Ales, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, and even his excellency Governor of Virginia to brew Stone Give Me IPA or Give Me Death, an India Pale Ale brewed with hops, raspberries, and blackberries from Virginia. Speakers from the St. John’s Church Foundation (where Patrick Henry gave his famous “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” speech) and other local partners like Lamplighter Roasting Co and Mountain Culture Kombucha will be on hand. The brewery will also tap a special cask with the help of Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington at 1:00 PM.

When: Saturday, February 18th; all afternoon | Where: Stone Brewing Richmond, 4300 Williamsburg Avenue in Fulton | Cost: FREE | More info: Event website

Virginia International Auto Show

If you’re looking for a new car or truck or are just an enthusiast, the Richmond International Auto Show is the place for you this weekend. Hundreds of new cars, trucks, and SUVs will be on display along with concept vehicles to give you a taste of the future and upcoming trends. Electric vehicles will have a big presence in this year’s show as well.

When: Friday, February 17th – Sunday, February 19th; times vary | Where: Greater Richmond Convention Center, 403 N. 3rd Street Downtown | Cost: Adults $10 | More info: Event website
