Owens & Minor to open new Client Engagement Center at Riverfront Plaza, create 300 new jobs
The company’s new Client Engagement Center will occupy 90,000 square feet of space and house up to 500 total employees at Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Richmond.
A Fortune 500 company announced plans to greatly expand its presence in the City of Richmond today. Hanover-based Owens & Minor has signed a lease to take over 90,000 square feet of Riverfront Plaza in Downtown Richmond, it was announced at a joint press conference between Mayor Levar Stoney, Governor Terry McAuliffe, and company officials Thursday afternoon.
The deal will create a new Client Engagement Center and over 300 new “high-paying” jobs. Up to 200 employees from other locations around the country will also relocate to Richmond as well for a total of up to 500 employees who could be based at the new center. The company will also keep its headquarters at Atlee Station in Hanover, officials confirmed.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership and Greater Richmond Partnership collaborated to bring the company into the city limits. Governor McAuliffe presented a check from the state’s Commonwealth Opportunity Fund to the City of Richmond totalling $1.5 million in support of the deal.
Owens & Minor will occupy approximately 9.5% of the complex. In all, the two 20-story towers that make up Riverfront Plaza include 951,900 square feet of Class A office space overlooking the James River.
