GRTC:

GRTC is preparing to install new bus stop signs north of the James River in 2017. These new signs are taller, more visible, and feature more information about the routes servicing the stop. Public feedback about this new sign design has been overwhelmingly positive from the pilot routes (32 Ginter Park, 72-73 Ampthill/Ruffin Rd), and sign installation is already underway south of the James River.

Before installation begins north of the James River, though, GRTC requests public input on Northside bus stop locations now through January 4, 2017.

In preparation for this major sign improvement, GRTC staff inventoried the existing bus stop locations and evaluated them for spacing, safety, and customer use. GRTC is proposing to move or remove many bus stops in the Northside area to consolidate and even out spacing, improve bus speeds, and enable GRTC to improve bus stop amenities in the future.

Customers can explore the proposed bus stop moves and removals through this interactive map:  http://arcg.is/2h39Yld. GRTC requests customer feedback now through January 4, 2017.

GRTC will review all public comments internally and with City staff prior to making a final decision regarding each bus stop.
