Open Table which allows you to make dinner reservations without having to talk to a human being combed through a mountain of reviews and came up with the best 100.

Oregon Hill’s L’Opossum was the only Richmond restaurant to make the cut. If you haven’t been, first off make a reservation because you’ll need it. Second off be prepared to be wowed by the food. Thirdly if the decor doesn’t make you smile I fear your soul is dead and you shouldn’t go out to eat anywhere but chain fast food spots for the rest of your life.

The criteria for the selection and the list of the other 99 can be found here.

The list of the 100 Best Restaurants in America 2016 is generated solely from more than 10 million verified OpenTable diner reviews collected between November 1, 2015, and October 31, 2016. All restaurants with a minimum “overall” score and number of qualifying reviews were included for consideration. Qualifying restaurants were then sorted according to a score calculated from each restaurant’s average rating in the “overall” category along with that restaurant’s rating relative to others in the same metropolitan area.
