One killed, another injured in home invasion shooting on Three Chopt Road

Henrico Police say the shooting was justified and no charges are expected to be filed.

One person is dead and another was injured following a shooting that occurred during an attempted home invasion that occurred early Saturday morning in the 8800 block of Three Chopt Road.

Upon arrival on the scene around 2:00 AM, Henrico Police found two adult males with gunshots wounds. Both were transported to a local hospital, where one male succumbed to his wounds. While police were on scene, they learned the two individuals injured from the shooting had fled from a home invasion and were shot by an occupant of the apartment.

The deceased man has been identified as Taivon Maquell Fox, age 19, of Henrico. The identity of the injured person is not being released, the department says. Henrico Police are continuing to investigate the incident and say that the shooting was justified due to the circumstances. No charges are expected to be filed in the case as of now.
