RVA Beer Explorer
RVA Beer Explorer: Quickies, Turning 5, Future Music, Collab
A weekly look at Richmond’s craft beer scene.
QUICK HITS
There were a couple bits of beer news that we covered during the past week. Rather than repeat what is said here are some links to see the original words and brilliance.
-
Scott’s Addition’s craft beer scene earns national press – Locals fear mass influx of NOVA folks and draft plans for blockading I-95. Last we heard they were discussing the plans over beer and no action has been taken.
-
Stone Brewing reduces workforce by 5% amid slowdown, impact to Richmond brewery uncertain –Â Headline writers start dusting of their “Sinking like a Stone” and “Stone Cold” headlines just in case.
HARDYWOOD 5
They made a big splash when they came into our lives five years ago and they’ve become synonymous with “Richmond Beer Scene”. They’re turning five and as you’d expect they’re throwing a bash.

MUSIC FROM THE FUTURE
I was intrigued when I saw the picture below and then even more fascinated when I read the description.
In tune with the city-wide ArtoberVA celebration, GGBC is proud to present a show like no other we’ve hosted…
Singer/violinist Razz is a songwriter and classically trained musician. She performs with a custom 6-string electric violin called a ‘Viper Violin’ which allows her to sing and play at the same time and encompasses the range of a violin, viola, and cello.
Check it out live next week Thursday, October 27th at 8 PM at Garden Grove Brewing Company.
TRIPLE PROGRESS
You should already know that Triple Crossing is expanding to Fulton but unless you follow them on their various social medias you might have missed the progress their making.

FARM TO STABLE
Blue Bee Cider opened up in Scott’s Addition this past weekend. To celebrate they did a collaboration with Three Notch’d.
Three Notch’d Brewing Company RVA Collab House posted this yesterday let’s hope they’ve still got some. Let us know how it tastes. I’m sure awesome.
We’re still pouring our Blue Bee collaboration beer, “Farm to Stable,” released at their grand opening so if you didn’t get to try it, get some while it lasts!
