Everyday you’re making stuff. It might be the intangible as in a memory of feeling or perhaps it is more concrete such as finishing up that craft project that has been in the basement for two years. On Saturday you’ll have a chance to create a few memories and be inspired by those that are creating at the RVA MakerFest.

Last year the creating ran the gamut from a giant steam engine blowing whistles to intricate glass figures. Along the way there is plenty of food and drink to enjoy. The makers are all more than happy to talk with you about their creations and many have hands on creating or helping that you or your little ones can participate in. As a bonus the Science Museum will be open and if you have been in awhile it’s a great chance to check out the new exhibits.

RVA MakerFest returns to the Science Museum of Virginia on Saturday September 24th from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This free, family-friendly event features interactive demonstrations in science, art, technology, engineering, sustainability, food, music, crafts, and fashion. Attendees will be able to interact with over 100 makers from the Greater Richmond area to experience S.T.E.A.M. education and entrepreneurism in action. Local food and craft beer will also be available and Museum exhibits will be open to the public.
