It’s easy to forget as we prepare for our long winter’s nap that fall is an excellent time for planting. One crucial ingredient to fall planting is plants. I can’t give you any advice on what to plant but I can point you in the direction of one of the best spots to buy plants and talk to people that know plants, the Lewis Ginter Fall PlantFest.

No admission fee required; regular admission to visit the Garden

Friday, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Avid gardeners know fall is a great time for planting! Lewis Ginter Fall PlantFest (formerly the Fall Plant Sale) features vendors selling plants ranging from well-known favorites to rare exotics. Presented by Garden volunteers.

NEW! See and learn more about birds of prey. The Raptor Conservancy of Virginia will be at Fall PlantFest on Friday, 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. only with live, rescued raptors that cannot be re-released into the wild.
