Garden Glow Information

Maymont is expanding its annual Garden Glow event, presented by Kroger, to 22 nights this fall, running from October 16 through November 10. Large light sculptures will be installed throughout the grounds, and the Japanese Garden, presented by Colesville Nursery, will once again feature artistic lighting designed to create an immersive experience. The event provides an opportunity for attendees to view nature in a unique way and spend time outdoors with friends and family.

The extended schedule includes additional value evenings with discounted admission, while Maymont members receive free admission on three specific nights: October 16, 22, and 29. The event will start at The Robins Nature Center, where visitors will find a Glow Bar and Glow Shop before following the Kinsale Glow Path, which includes new light installations by international artists.

Upon arrival at the Glow Village, attendees can gather around fire pits and illuminated furniture while enjoying food and beverages from the Glow Bar. Guests can also purchase glow-themed accessories from the Glow Shop and participate in activities such as the new Glow Swings, the Shadow Wall presented by Juno Financial Group, and the Big Bright Mega Light. The event continues along the Woodland Trail, leading to the Japanese Garden, which will feature colorful lighting displays presented by Colesville Nursery.

“Exploring Maymont is enjoyable throughout the year during the daytime, and we are pleased to offer the community this evening experience during Garden Glow,” said Parke Richeson, President and CEO of the Maymont Foundation. “Each year, we introduce new activities and artistic lighting designs, providing a unique way for the community to support Maymont.”

Maymont members can take advantage of discounted admission, and free access is offered on three nights. Advance reservations are recommended, as popular time slots may sell out. Ticket prices range from $12 to $20, depending on the night. Additionally, the Museums for All program offers $3 admission per adult and free admission for children to those who present a SNAP/EBT card. Advance tickets for Museums for All can be purchased at The Robins Nature Center or Stone Barn Welcome Center on Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Proceeds from the event support the upkeep of Maymont, and the event will proceed rain or shine.

Groups can reserve a designated hospitality space in the Glow Row by CoStar Group. Whether for alumni gatherings, corporate events, family outings, or team-building activities, the Glow Row provides a base for group activities during the event.

Garden Glow, presented by Kroger, takes place entirely outdoors, rain or shine, with the exception of severe weather. Guests are advised to wear clothing and footwear appropriate for outdoor conditions, including walking on rustic paths. For those unable to navigate the hilly terrain, transportation to the Japanese Garden will be provided.

Parking for the event is available at The Robins Nature Center and Hampton Street parking lots, with street parking also available. The Maymont Farm parking lot will be used for overflow parking as needed.
