The announcement was made on Facebook on Thursday afternoon.

Thank you all for your concern and support. I have made the difficult decision to close Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery for the winter to prioritize my health. After a recurrent battle with sepsis, I was diagnosed with a rare immunological deficiency. To prevent further health risks, it’s essential for me to minimize exposure to potential contagions.

During this hibernation period, Lickinghole Creek is not just pausing operations; it’s a time for reflection and planning. Ensuring that your farm brewery experience meets the high standards of quality and enjoyment you’ve come to expect from us is critically important. Lickinghole Creek is more than just a brewery to me; it’s a commitment to excellence, and my current health situation requires me to step back.

Lickinghole Creek represents an agritourism experience and a venue that embodies community, economic growth, and conservation. My passion for delivering innovative, delicious, and unique brews is unwavering. Each product is crafted to be worthy of your time, travel, and taste. I deeply value the moments you choose to spend with us, enjoying Virginia’s open spaces, wildlife conservation, epicurean delights, and supporting local agribusiness. My dream has always been to offer an agribusiness that cultivates memorable experiences, connecting friends and family with the beauty and bounty of Virginia.

We look forward to welcoming you back with new and exciting offerings once we reopen. Your understanding and patience during this period mean the world to us. Thank you for being a part of the Lickinghole Creek family.

Sincerely,
Lisa Reynolds Brotherton
