On the Radar

Kickers – The hometown boys are back at home and this time facing Coach Sawatzky’s old team FC Tucson. Name one good thing about Tucson? I knew you couldn’t. The weather is looking more tolerable for a change so get out there and support your local soccer team.

  • City Stadium | 3201 Maplewood Ave | Gates Open 5 PM –  KO 6:30 PM, Saturday, July 31st | $9 – $18 | Tickets

Washington Football Team Training Camp – The other football team is warming up out at the training center on Leigh Street. Currently, they are at capacity so time to hit up your NFL fanatic friends for their extra tickets, it will also explain if you see more burgundy in town than usual.

  • Bon Secours Training Center | 2401 West Leigh Ave | Gates Open 8 AM –  6:30 PM, Saturday, July 31st | Free  | Website

Under the Radar

Pop-Up Art Market – Pop into Basic City Beer Co (RVA) every week to shop for handmade goods created in Richmond. This Saturday: Foxy Epoxy, albahaca tailandesa, KitColorShow, Arlanda James Skincare, New makers every week! Indoors, in the spacious taproom. Did we mention beer because yeah, there’s beer.

  • Basic City Brewery | 212 West Sixth Street | 3 PM –  7 PM, Saturday, July 31st | Free  | FB Event

Väsen 4th Anniversary Celebration: River Clean Up – Väsen is hosting a River Clean up and we would love for the community to join their crew while they clean up one of their favorite trail systems in Richmond, Pony Pasture. Details: Upon arrival, head over to the Väsen registration tent and our crew will get you equipped for picking up litter. Our friends over at Richmond Community Toolbank are hooking us up with the equipment needed (trash picker-uppers, trash bags, and plastic gloves) but you’ll need to bring your trusty water bottle & sunscreen! We recommend wearing comfortable gear and close toed-shoes.

🍻 Once we’ve cleaned up the trails, we’ll weigh the trash we’ve removed and snap a group pic. You’ll also earn a special token that can be redeemed in our tasting room for a cold beverage or a discount on merch! You earned it after helping make your community a better place!
  • Pony Pasture | 7200 Riverside Drive | 10 AM –  12 PM, Saturday, July 31st | Free  | FB Event

Gospel Fest – Dogwood Dell will come to life with Gospel Fest hosted by Richmond gospel queen Sheilah Belle. This is another performance of the city’s free Festival of Arts.
