There are 6 proposed casino developments under consideration by the city. Legislation adopted by the Virginia General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Northam earlier this year authorizes the city to host a casino gaming establishment, subject to the residents of Richmond approving a casino referendum. That referendum is anticipated to be on the ballot in November of 2021.

Bally’s Corp.: A $650 million project to on 61 acres at the northeast intersection of Powhite and Chippenham parkways. When complete it would be 1.6 million sq. ft. Bally’s currently operates 11 casinos in 7 states.

Cordish Companies: A $600 million resort casino project atop the 17-acre Movieland cinema complex off Arthur Ashe Boulevard. Promises 18 restaurants and entertainment venues.

Golden Nugget Hotels & Casinos:  A $400 million casino development on 61 wooded acres at the intersection of Powhite and Chippenham parkways. For those familiar with the area, Granite Pool would be fairly close to Parking Lot C.

Pamunkey Tribe Resort & Casino: A $350 million casino resort on the city’s Southside at 5000 and 5030 Commerce Road. This is the first one to come on our radar and would take up 24.5 acres and be 1.4 million sq. ft.

Urban One : A $517 million resort casino at 2001 Walmsley Blvd. on land currently owned by Philip Morris. When finished would be 950,000 sq. feet on 100 acres.

Wind Creek Hospitality: A $541 million casino development at 1220 and 1260 Ingram Ave. Currently 25 acres are secured with the potential for 56+ more development.
