Willow Lawn pioneers contactless pickup program for shopping center merchants
Branded The Pick-Up, the program is made available to all merchants and customers looking for comfortable ways to return to shopping at their favorite stores.
Federal Realty, the property management company for Willow Lawn, announced Friday the rollout of a contactless pick-up program at the shopping center that aims to boost sales for tenants and provide safer shopping for customers. Branded The Pick-Up, the program is made available to all merchants and customers looking for comfortable ways to return to shopping at their favorite stores.
Customers will be able to place orders directly with stores by phone or online and arrange for same-day pick-up, or a time most convenient to them.
“The customer experience is of the utmost importance to us,” says Jeff Van Horn owner of The Lucky Road at Willow Lawn in Henrico, Virginia. Van Horn continues, “With The Pick-Up, our dedicated team is able to work with customers over the phone to select the merchandise that meets their running and walking needs. We are then able to bring their purchases out to their car when they arrive with a seamless and completely contactless exchange. I really appreciate Federal’s ability to quickly adapt to the changes in today’s retail environment by providing such an essential service.”
Federal expects to grow The Pick-Up, with plans to expand on the service, in response to the changes in customer shopping habits. “We see this as a long-term solution to finding even more convenient ways for customers to shop,” says Jenn Davidson, Senior Leasing Associate, “and, for our merchants to create meaningful engagement with customers that is just not possible through on-line shopping,” Davidson continues.
Look for The Pick-Up to launch later this month.
