From the Facebook Event:

Come join John Plashal for an intimate evening of storytelling about “Abandoned Virginia”. Plashal is a photographer, speaker, rural explorer and author of the popular photographic coffee table book, “A Beautifully Broken Virginia”. He spends a considerable amount of his free time assimilating into small communities in an effort to find and photograph abandoned places such as houses, churches, schools and insane asylums – all of which have not only fallen into a beautiful state of disrepair, but also have accompanying backstories that are historically relevant or anecdotally fascinating. Be one of only 20 people in the art gallery at this popular Richmond antique and gift store that has a chance to see these powerful images and hear these emotional stories while surrounded by Plashal’s most popular prints.

The event is this Thursday at 7 PM – 9 PM at Nest (3404 Semmes Ave). You’ll need to buy your ticket ($20) ahead of time as these events tend to sell out. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.
