Hardywood Park Craft Brewery announces six variants of Gingerbread Stout for 2019 release

“GBS: The Complete Set” includes one bottle of each Gingerbread Stout variant for that year as well as a GBS branded glass for $175. First made available in 2017, last year’s set included 11 variants. 2019’s set will expand to include 12 variants, including 6 new concepts and 4 variants packaged exclusively for the Complete Set.

Hardywood Park Craft Brewery has announced the 2019 lineup for their coveted Gingerbread Stout release as well as six new variants for the upcoming season.

“GBS: The Complete Set” includes one bottle of each Gingerbread Stout variant for that year as well as a GBS branded glass for $175. First made available in 2017, last year’s set included 11 variants. 2019’s set will expand to include 12 variants, including 6 new concepts and 4 variants packaged exclusively for the Complete Set.

2019 + 2020 Family Tree subscription members will be guaranteed early access to pre-purchase Gingerbread Stout: The Complete Set. Remaining sets will be made available to the public for purchase on September 23 at 9:00 AM with a limit of one set per person.

GBS: The Complete Set will include the following variants for 2019:

Purchased GBS Complete Sets can be picked up at the Hardywood West Creek taproom between Friday, December 13 – Wednesday, December 18, during regular taproom hours.

Richmond selected to host 2021 Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference

Zephyr United recently announced that the Richmond region has been selected to host the 2021 Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference (BMTC). The conference will take place February 23-25, 2021 at the Omni Richmond Hotel in Richmond’s Shockoe Slip Historic District.

“Richmond is a fantastic location for the Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference,” said Allan Wright, President of Zephyr United. “It has an outstanding beer scene and is actively engaged in promoting the region as a beer tourism destination. We are excited to be heading to Richmond in 2021.”

The Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference (BMTC) provides information and education regarding the growing functions and importance of beer marketing, tourism, event planning, and branding. The BMTC is regularly attended by breweries, brewery guilds, destination management organizations, tour operators, marketing agencies and media from around the country. The schedule of events for 2021 will include summits, presentations, and lectures from leading beer industry figures, including a keynote talk from Stone Brewing Co-Founder Greg Koch.

Craft beer tourism is a growing trend in Virginia, with the state calling more than 200 breweries home. Virginia is also one of six states where craft beer has grown the most, up 36% according to C+R Research. The Richmond region is home to nearly forty breweries and in 2018 was named “The World’s Top Beer Destination” by VinePair. Richmond Region Tourism encourages visitors to use the Richmond Beer Trail as their guide when exploring the craft beer scene in the area. After getting their map stamped at five breweries, Richmond Beer Trail followers are given limited-edition Richmond Beer Trail gear.

“We are thrilled to host the Beer Marketing & Tourism Conference 2021,” said Jack Berry, President and CEO of Richmond Region Tourism. “We look forward to saying ‘Cheers’ to BMTC guests in March of 2021 when we’ll feature our fantastic craft beer scene and show them why Richmond was included in the New York Times52 Places to Go in 2020.’”

Tom Leonard’s Farmer’s Market planning to double size of Short Pump store

Construction on an expansion of the locally-owned store should commence this Spring.

Tom Leonard’s Farmer’s Market, which has operated in western Henrico County since 2004, is getting bigger.

The 15,000-square-foot market will nearly double in size when the store expansion project is completed later this year, owner Tom Leonard said.

Construction should begin late in the spring.

The expansion will take over the tented area to the left of the store – where pumpkins and Christmas trees are typically sold.

The added space will enable the market, off Tom Leonard Drive, to expand and move its bakery and deli departments into the new space. The bakery will be able to make fresh-boiled bagels – “the way they do them in New York,” Leonard said.
