The Richmond SPCA is gearing up for its annual event that seeks to place as many as possible adoptable dogs and cats with loving families this weekend. Clear The Shelters takes place this Saturday, August 17th.

All pet adoption fees will be waived as a part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters pet adoption initiative. The Richmond SPCA has participated in this lifesaving event each year since 2015.

The Richmond SPCA’s knowledgeable adoption counselors will be working very hard to match dozens of deserving pets with responsible, loving and lasting homes throughout the day. Historically, Clear the Shelters has been the local humane organization’s largest single day of adoptions, with 88 pets placed during the 2018 event.

Adoption fees will be waived for all approved adopters. All dogs must have a collar and a leash to go home, and all cats must leave in an appropriate carrier. The Richmond SPCA’s Lora Robins Gift Shop will have these items available for purchase.
