Four Guns Stolen from Cars Over Weekend

Four Guns Stolen from Cars Over Weekend

Thieves broke the rear window of one vehicle, but the other two cars were left unlocked.

If you’re a gun owner please, secure your firearm properly. Leaving it in an unlocked car is definitely not secure.

From RPD Facebook:

We know we may sound repetitive, but it’s because FIREARMS are still being stolen from motor vehicles. 🚗🔫

Over the weekend, FOUR guns were taken from three vehicles (parked on W 22nd Street, Mactavish Avenue, and Chamberlayne Avenue). Thieves broke the rear window of one vehicle, but the other two were left unlocked.

By law, you are able to store a firearm inside a vehicle. But it is NOT a smart practice and we are encouraging the public to be more mindful.

This is just another reminder to #LockItOrLoseIt and prevent these firearms from falling into the hands of potentially violent criminals.#ComeOnRichmond
