Manchu, a Chicken Wing Takeout Spot, Now Open

Wings and more with a New Orleans flair available on North Avenue.

The food truck Manchu has opened it’s brick and mortar location at 2914 North Ave. Although it’s a brick and mortar spot don’t expect to dine-in. It’s all takeout. You’ll be able to get, chicken wings, po boys, gumbo, banh mi sandwiches, fried seafood, egg rolls and french fries. Manchu has been around since 2017 and is named after a restaurant/grocery in New Orleans.

Richmond had an excellent article last year when they announced moving into the Northside location.

The Nguyens launched the food truck here about one year ago, with a menu that includes its ghost pepper and sticky garlic-fried chicken wings, spring rolls and Banh Mi sandwiches.

The move into Brookland Park was spurred in part by neighborhood developer and landlord Kyle Johnston trying the food from Manchu’s truck, getting to know Marvin Nguyen and then trying the food at the New Orleans outpost while on a trip down south.
