The Car at the Bottom of the Hill

Slowly being taken over by nature are the remnants of an auto.

At the foot of Nickel Bridge on the South Bank lay the detritus of what looks to be an aqua colored car. Does anyone know the story of how the car came to its final resting spot? Every time I walk past I wonder about its story.
