Forest Hill Neighborhood Association Campaign to Improve Safety on Forest Hill Ave

Forest Hill Neighborhood Association Campaign to Improve Safety on Forest Hill Ave

Anybody that has ever tried to cross Forest Hill Avenue on foot or bike well knows the issues with speeding, distracted driving and more.

From FHNA President:

On November 3rd two pedestrians were struck by a driver while crossing (in the crosswalk) at 43rd and Forest Hill Avenue. The child has been hospitalized due to the severity of the injuries sustained when he was hit by the vehicle. This crash was the result of many issues seen daily of drivers on Forest Hill  Ave. Speeding, distracted driving, and other moving violations have plagued us for too many years with calls for changes and warnings of crashes unheeded.

Clicking this link here will bring up a form email to the Mayor, CAO, Chief of Police, the Captain and Lt of the 3rd precinct (where we live), DPW, Traffic Engineering, Vision Zero, Bike Walk RVA, and Councilperson Larson. We the residents have been voicing our concerns for over a decade now with no action. Please take a few moments to send this email, or customize to suit your concerns more specifically. In the end hopefully hearing from us all at once at many levels of the City government will make a difference.

Thank you for taking the time to express these concerns and helping to make our neighborhood a little safer.

Whit Clements

President FHNA

The young man referred to above is Davison Chapman and the GoFundMe is still active if you’d like to donate to his recovery.
