Third annual artoberVA kicks off today with arts, cultural experiences around Richmond
This year, artoberVA will continue to dig into the organizers’ belief that arts and culture should be approachable and accessible to everyone.
Today, October 1st, the third annual artoberVA, a celebration of arts & culture in Richmond and the Tri-Cities area, kicks off. artoberVA runs the entire month until October 31st.
This year, artoberVA will continue to dig into the organizers’ belief that arts and culture should be approachable and accessible to everyone. You can expect to see lots of events and experiences – many accessible near bus routes – as well as artists and organizations bringing popups and collaborative experiences directly to many neighborhoods.
All of this fits into the four main focus areas for artoberVA: art in new and unexpected places, pop-ups, collaborations, and family-friendly experiences.
What is artoberVA?
Every October, in conjunction with National Arts and Humanities month,
CultureWorks presents artoberVA to promote events, pop-ups, exhibits, performances, collaborations, and any arts or culture experience happening in the Richmond & Tri-Cities area.
artoberVA increases participation in arts and culture events in our area and expands the exposure of organizations, venues, and artists that are shaping this vibrant and creative scene. artoberVA 2017 saw over 1100 arts and cultural experiences around the region created by over 150 artists and organizations.
There are hundreds of artoberVA events to engage your senses during the month of October. Visit the calendar at artoberVA.com see all that our region has to offer.
