People’s Blues of Richmond aren’t playing Richmond anytime soon, so we sent our resident photographer to catch their set at LOCKN’ Festival this past weekend.

The People’s Blues of Richmond are only a trio but they have a big sound that resonates with fans. The band is made up of Nekoro Williams (vocals/drums), Matthew Volkes (vocals/bass), and Tim Beavers II (vocals/guitar).

This weekend they performed at the 4-day LOCKN’ Festival in Arrington, Virginia and we sent our own Suzanne Velasco to catch their set and report back. Her report and photos were summarized in two words: “They rocked!!!”
