Sinkhole on Taylor Avenue

The sinkhole you see above is on the 1000 block of Taylor Avenue. All the proper authorities have been informed including RVA311, police, fire department, DPU, and local news. Normally that would pretty much wrap this story up. It’s a hole in the street avoid it.

ABC8 reporter Nick Conigliaro has covered this sinkhole better than any relatively small sinkhole has ever been covered. First up we have the dramatic headline:

‘I don’t feel safe crossing it with my vehicle’: Sinkhole causing concerns for Forest Hill residents

This came after two sets of tweets. One before the sun came up.

This sinkhole in one Forest Hill neighborhood is causing problems for residents and drivers.
I’m live from Taylor Avenue with more on this inconvenience only on Good Morning Richmond.@8NEWS pic.twitter.com/xWwCP2bV0y

Eventually, a barrel was placed over the hole but Nick was there to follow-up and talk with neighbors.

Take a look at just how bad this sinkhole is on Taylor Ave. I spoke with neighbors who say they don’t feel safe even walking across the street, especially not driving their cars.@8NEWS is the only crew out here and I’m bringing you the full report all morning. pic.twitter.com/OlSoqo5kvd
