GO DO THIS

Justice for Ale – Väsen Brewing, Wednesday

The name alone is enough reason to attend but you’ll also be drinking for a good cause, the Legal Aid Justice Center. The Legal Aid Justice Center based in Charlottesville battles poverty and injustice by solving critical legal problems for individuals and communities.

It’s BACK and more fun than ever. Justice for Ale is coming on May 23rd. Presented by Commonwealth Law Group this year’s event will be one to remember with great beer from Väsen Brewing Company two delicious food trucks River City Wood Fire Pizza and Gaucho and music from DJ Elliot Ness.

Your $10 ticket gets you a Justice 4 Ale Pint Glass, our custom Koozie, and 1 beverage ticket! Our custom Growlers will be available for $25 (beer not included)

Properties and a Pint – Intermission, Wednesday

Buying a house is one of the most terrifying things I’ve ever done. An event like this would have calmed my nerves. With the current state of house prices in Richmond, it might take more than a couple beers if I were looking at buying today.

Thinking of Selling? Buying? Investment Properties? Join a Local Lender and Neighborhood Realtor for some information on Mortgages and Finding the Right Agent and enjoy a Pint of beer on them! 6:45 – First drink and snacks provided!

Castleburg’s Two Year Anniversary – Castleburg, Friday

Castleburg, the little next door neighbor of RVA beer giant Hardywood, has built up a substantial following behind a solid line-up of beers. In the course of two years, they’ve brought home some major awards and nearly double the space of their tasting room. Happy Birthday Good Sir Knights and Maidens.

We can’t believe that 2 years has passed since we served our first beer in RVA. So much has happened since then, and we are so very thankful to all of you for your support and patronage.

BEER NEWS

Riverfront Beer Garden Coming to Tredegar

This event will be making a re-appearance on the GO DO THIS list next month but I thought it was such a neat idea I had to share it. The folks at Triple Crossing have combined with the American Civil War Museum to plan a pop-up Riverfront Beer Garden.

We’re excited to announce Richmond’s first outdoor pop-up beer garden at Historic Tredegar on the James. We’ll be pouring beer on the patio at Tredegar overlooking the James River and Brown’s Island from 12-8pm on Saturday, June 30th. Triple Crossing favorites like Falcon Smash IPA will be available alongside several other Triple Crossing beers and a brand new release just for the event. Food trucks will be set up on site for lunch or dinner and we’ll have a DJ spinning tunes all day. Come out and celebrate the beautiful RVA outdoors and welcome summer in style. A portion of all proceeds from the event will go to benefit the American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar. This is a free event to attend and everything will be sold by the pour.

Sunset IPA Returns – Final Gravity, Friday

Not a new beer but the return of a favorite.

Sunspots is a temporary phenomenon containing El Dorado, Amarillo, and Citra hops at 7% ABV. With flavors of pineapple, stone fruit and citrus, it’s destined to disappear within days. Crowlers will be available in limited quantity.

Best Kept Secret 8% DIPA & Mosiac Triangles – Triple Crossing Fulton, Friday

They’ve announced one but as of Tuesday morning not the other. You’ll have to head to Triple Crossing’s page at some point to see what the other beer will be. Good luck my fellow beer explorers, may your mouse clicks lead you to wonderful beers.  Updated with the news about Mosiac Triangles.

Best Kept Secret 8% DIPA. There are no secrets now with this 100% Australian Vic Secret hopped beer. Sweet tropical Maui pineapples, Georgia peaches and dank passionfruit notes swim throughout this beer.

Mosaic ⟁’s 6% IPA with a fresh look. Soft, bright citrus forward notes of fresh clementines and tangerines.

Cuvée Peach Release – Hardywood both locations, Saturday

Life is just peachy with this new beer coming out from Hardywood.

Hardywood Cuvée Peach is artfully blended by our barrel master from small batches of Peach Tripel aged in white wine barrels at varying levels of maturation from three months to more than a year. The resulting beer is beautifully complex with yeast derived stone fruit esters that harmonize with juicy peach undertones. This sparkling refresher offers a pleasantly dry finish with the slightest hint of vanilla from the toasted French Oak barrels.
