Manastoh Brewing coming to Manchester
More development on the way for Hull Street from a familiar source.
The Hild owned and operated Dogtown Dish is reporting that Laura Dyer Hild is opening Manastoh Brewing in Manchester.
The name is a nod to the Native American heritage of the Manchester area.
The Manastoh name was selected to honor the original Native American reference for Manchester before it was renamed by English settlers. The fall line at Richmond and Manchester was an important line of demarcation between the Monacan tribe of Sioux speaking Indians to the west and Powhatan’s confederacy comprised of Algonquian Indians to the East. Manastoh was the name the various tribes used for the area that we today refer to as Manchester.
The brewery located in the Bank of Commerce & Trusts building at 1128 Hull Street. Across the street and the previously announced Dogtown Brewery, Hot Diggity Donuts, and Butterbean Market which are all owned by the Hild’s. No word on the head brewer or what style beers they’ll be focused on.
The brewery will also feature a third-floor full-service restaurant. Construction to begin this summer.
