I know we’re all waiting patiently for news on the Richmond Food Co-op slated to go into 1200 Westover Hills Boulevard. Once completed the Co-op will provide a full-service grocery store, offering a full range of produce, meat/dairy, bulk, and household goods.
The meeting will be held Saturday, February 24 at 3 PM – 5:30 PM at Westover Hills United Methodist Church 1705 Westover Hills Blvd.
The Co-op is at a critical stage in its development, and we need full member participation to advance our store’s opening. All hands on deck! In-person voting for board elections is also needed to make the vote valid. The meeting will include the following:
-Get updates from the Co-op’s member loan, building, and membership committees
-Participate in small group discussions on how to help the Co-op reach its goals
-Sign-up for a volunteer role. All committees are seeking help for specific tasks related to the relaunch of the Member Loan Campaign.
If you can’t attend the meeting in person, early voting for board elections is now live!
This year’s election includes two slots to be filled. The candidates are Patrick Johnson and Michele Lord (re-election). All member/owners are entitled to vote, and a quorum of 10% is needed for confirmation. 5% may be represented by proxy (including early online voting).
