Hamaganza’s Final Insult is hitting the stage tonight
Admission is $10, or as always donation of a juicy ham for seven bands and many surprises.
The snow put a crimp in the plans a couple weeks ago but now everything is in place and the hams are ready. Tonight at the Canal Club Hamganza will take flight.
Original Post:
For the past 20+ years Donnie Corker, better known as Dirtwoman, has been the ringmaster in three ring circus known as Hamganza. Started as a punk show, over the years it has become much, much more.
This bit from GayRVA.com sums up the reason behind the name Final Insult.
This year’s Hamaganza, dubbed “The Final Insult,” aims to pay tribute to Corker, who passed away earlier this year. It will be the final Hamaganza event. “It will be plenty dumb,” Chris Dovi, who has been an organizer of the event since 2006, said. “We might have some city hall politicians, maybe a general assembly member or two if they can stomach showing up. We definitely have a pretty good mix of interesting people on stage.”
The Final Insult will be delivered to all present at the Canal Club this Friday. Proceeds will benefit the Massey Cancer Center and The Food Bank. The Final Insult is an 18+ event. Admission is $10, or as always donation of a juicy ham. Tickets can be purchased online.
