The work of the 17th Street Market space continues and as you can see from the image above the finished project will be nice looking. The question remains on exactly what will happen in the space. Various groups and individuals have their own ideas, you might even have an opinion. Now you’ve got a chance to share that opinion.

The Managers of the 17th Street Market, the Enrichmond Foundation has partnered with VCU’s Center for Urban and Regional Analysis to gather community input for the Market’s future programming. In the first step of the process, they’ve already held a series of small focus groups with residents, business owners and community leaders to determine their aspirations for the space.

The second step, they’re collecting responses from the community at large via online surveys; one focused on the needs of Richmond’s downtown business workers and one focused on assessing the needs/desires of the neighboring residents.

They’re trying to hear from as many members of our community possible as we look to programming development once the construction is completed in 2018.
