This summer during the solar eclipse I went for a long walk and ended up dehydrated, tired, and hot surrounded by hundreds looking skyward. My gaze was not to the heavens rather it was to the rainbow-colored umbrella marking the temporary home of a King of Pops cart. I was saved and managed to check out the eclipse which was pretty cool but the pop was life-saving.

Now it’s possible for you and me, mere peasants in the King’s realm to learn the secrets of the pop.

For the past two years, King of Pops has held a pop-making class. Starting on October 25th and going through November 15th the classes are back.

20 people per class will get to make a dozen of their own unique pop flavor, sample 8-10 pops, learn the basics of pop-making techniques, learn about flavor pairings and more. Tickets are $50/person

During the time the pops are freezing (about 30-40 min), there will be other activities. During October there will be mini-pumpkins to decorate and for the November classes, pop-makers will head to Studio Two Three, who will lead a brief session on screen printing and other crafts for people to do and take home.
