Richmond Food Co-op hoping to drum up member loans on Saturday at Zata
The Co-op is moving closer to fruition but still needs a little help.
I am convinced a member-owned full-service grocery store providing affordable, local, sustainable and healthy food options would be a nice addition to the neighborhood. In order for that to happen the Richmond Food Co-op needs members to loan the Co-op money. Find out how it all works and get help with the forms this Saturday over a beer, ice cream, coffee, or doughnut.
The Member Loan Campaign is ramping up for its final push. Let’s start this Saturday by gathering at Cafe Zata, right near the Co-op’s future home.
The Member Loan Campaign team will be at Zata from 4:30pm til 6:30pm THIS Saturday, September 16th. Join us for a beer, grab a snack, and support your Co-op. We can answer all of your questions, and will have the forms necessary to walk you through the loan process.
Remember–as typical of food cooperatives, we can NOT open without these loans from our member-owners. Your loan will be repaid with interest, and will be returned immediately in full if we do not reach our goal. Richmond needs a co-op, and together we can make it happen!
You can email [email protected] for more information or to pledge your loan today.
If you’d like to learn more about the plans for their building at 1200 Westover Hills Boulevard. Sign-up for a Co-op Building Tour + Q&A with the Architect. There are three tours scheduled: September 23rd, October 21st, and November 4th. These tours are free but organizers are asking that you sign-up at the previous link because space is limited.
