Publix purchased closed Forest Hill Avenue Martin’s

We shared the rumors obtained from the Martin’s meat counter guy that Publix would be moving in. It looks like, meat counter guy was right. Assuming of course that everything proceeds as normal.

RTD announced this morning that Publix has purchased the Martin’s property located at 7045 Forest Hill Ave.

The sale was recorded on Aug. 31. The purchase price was $12.491 million. The property is assessed at $6.7 million and was sold by Ukrop’s Super Markets Inc. The store was built in 1990.

“At this time, we can confirm the purchase of the real estate. However, we are currently in the due diligence process and are evaluating our next steps. When additional information becomes available, we’ll be happy to follow up,” Publix spokeswoman Kimberly Reynolds said in an email.

The store was definitely not built in 1990 but that point aside many folks are thrilled with the news.

The first renovated Publix opened in July and we posted our picture packed sneak-peak here. That store is located at 5400 Wyndham Forest Drive in Glen Allen.
