LET’S DO THIS

Ales for ALS: Bob’s Brew & Andrea’s Ale – Friday, Hardywood Craft Brewery

We are honored to participate in the 2017 Ales for ALS program! Our taproom is open from 4-10PM (last call 9:30) with Saucy’s BBQ providing the mobile cuisine! Stick around and enjoy live tunes starting at 6PM!

Since 2012, Ales for ALS has offered a proprietary blend of hops to over 100 American craft breweries, free of charge, in exchange for their participation in the Ales for ALS program. One dollar from every pint of Ales for ALS beer sold is donated directly to the ALS Therapy Development Institute (ALS TDI), the world’s first and largest nonprofit biotech focused 100 percent on ALS research. Led by people living with ALS and their families, ALS TDI understands the urgent need to slow and stop this disease.

Bob’s Brew 2017 is brewed in honor of Bob Murtaugh who lost his battle with ALS, but who’s gentle yet spirited nature lives on and resonates in the bright flavors of this India Pale Ale. Andrea’s Ale 2017 is brewed to honor our friend and ALS warrior Andrea Lytle Peet. We’ve added fresh pink grapefruit for extra brightness!

Richmond Record Fair – Sunday, Hardywood Craft Brewery

Yep, it’s two events this week at Hardywood on for charity and on for vinyl. If you love albums you should definitely swing by on Sunday and see what treasure you can dig up in the bins.

NEW BEER TO DRINK

Isley is releasing “Simon Says” Blackberry Wild Ale, (Lambic Inspired, Blackberry Wild Ale, 5.4% ABV, 9 IBUs) 0n Saturday. Sounds fruity.

We’ve done it again! A simple Belgian blonde, spontaneously fermented from the addition of fresh blackberries. We’ve taken inspiration from the Fruit Lambic Ales of Bavaria, and created a wild ale of epic proportions. Quite tart, with some funk on the finish, this beer pours a dark, cloudy purple color from the addition of roughly 50# of fresh blackberries and juice. The finished brew is strong in flavor, representative of a truly spontaneously made beverage.
