The Richmond Public School Board will host a series of community meetings to gather public input on the impending superintendent search, it was announced late Monday.

The Board released a statement saying, in part, that it intends to lead “transparent process and will offer updates along with several opportunities for community input.” The news comes after members voted to end current superintendent Dr. Dana Bedden’s contract two years earlier than expected. Board members refused to publicly comment on the decision, a move seen by some as less than transparent.

Four public meetings will be held at schools throughout the city. In addition, stakeholders can send feedback and questions to this email address.

The community meetings will be held on the following dates and locations:

  • May 16th at Huguenot High School from 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • May 18th at Oak Grove Elementary School from 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • May 23rd at Martin Luther King, Jr. Middle School from 6:30 – 8:00 PM
  • May 25th at Richmond Community High School from 6:30 – 8:00 PM
