We’ve got some beer news. Not all the beer news because YOU CAN’T HANDLE ALL THE BEER NEWS.

SPRING BREW THING

Sometimes you don’t find out about a festival until the last minute. This is one such case. I haven’t seen any marketing or buzz about the Spring Brew Thing but you can’t go wrong with food trucks, beer from a bunch of breweries, music and free admission. Saturday April 1st, 12 – 6PM, Chesterfield Towne Center, 20 + Virginia and regional craft brews. Bounce around the Spring Brew Thing Facbook page to check out the vendors, bands and such.

GARDEN GROVE ROLLING OUT THE OLD IRON DOG

I’m a sucker for dogs. Slap a dog on a beer label and I’ll likely buy it. Combine a dog named beer, with a dog charity and I’m all in.

From the event page:

In collaboration with RVA Magazine, GGBC is proud to announce the return of Old Iron Dog Ale on Saturday, April 1st!

Garden Grove Brewing Company will be releasing this special rvamag/GGBC collaboration brew to raise funds and awareness for Gracie’s Guardians– an initiative of the Richmond Animal League, promoting canine welfare in our community. 15% of proceeds of the sale of Old Iron Dog Ale will go directly to Gracie’s Guardians, so please come out to support this incredibly worthy cause!

BIKES, BOCCE, BEER AT TRIPLE CROSSING

A few things to point out about what’s going down at Triple Crossing. Last week they finished off their bocce court at Fulton so now Hardywood doesn’t have the bocce monopoly. Is this the beginning of a bocce arms race? Only time will tell. If you’re interested in playing in a bocce lead head over on Saturday for the Spring Bocce Preview.

Join Major League Bocce on Saturday April 1st for our Spring Bocce Preview from 3-5pm and get in some practice before the season kicks off. Everyone is welcome, beginners and veteran players alike!

Then register to join the spring league on Tuesday nights starting April 11th. Spots are available for both teams & individuals, but not for long, so sign up today!!!

P.S. We’ll even be giving away a pair of free registrations for the inaugural season, so don’t miss out!!

Biking to the Spring Bocce Preview? Perhaps you should attend Triple Crossing’s REI Bike Maintenance Clinic also at Fulton on Friday.

If you ride a bike, then you need this class! REI will be hosting a free Bike Maintenance Clinic once a month at our Fulton location! Our first session will be March 31st at 6:30pm. These informative sessions will teach you how to fix a flat, replace a chain, and do all other routine maintenance on your bike! Please do not bring your bike inside as this is a demonstration class. Bike parking always available outside adjacent to our patio.

FINAL GRAVITY TAKES FLIGHT

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Superman, no wait it’s my beer. Flight is a beer delivery service that has been taxing for takeoff for awhile now. Well it’s received clearance from the tower and is ready to bring beers to your house. The first passengers on Flight will be Final Gravity and they’ll be sending Venus Rising (IPA – Imperial / Double, 8.1% ABV)and Doppler Effect (IPA – American, 7% ABV) your way. Not a lot of details yet so keep an eye on the Flight website.
