A little bread could help Idle Hands make more bread

The hands are definitely not idle at Idle Hands Bread Company. In fact, they’re so busy they need a new oven.

Idle Hands Bread Compay is one of the smallest retail bakeries you’ll find in the area. Tucked into a spot at 312 Brook Road just off Broad, it makes up for its size with awesome pastries and breads. They’ve now run into the problem of being too successful and need to upgrade their oven. A bakery without a good bread oven is a sad sight indeed. Idle Hands has started a GoFundMe to raise $15,900 for a new oven.

Here is what owner Jay Metzler has to say:

Friends,

I have debated asking for your help. Our little bakery is desperate and up against a wall. We are so very happy at how popular our bread has become in a little more than a year and how many wonderful new wholesale partners we’ve begun to work with! But it’s becoming increasingly clearer by the day that our poor little oven won’t cut it much longer.

Can you help us raise some capital to really take us to the next level? The current oven we have was never built to bake bread on a production scale. It’s a small convection oven, perfect for our pastry! But the bread, especially now with increased volume really needs a true deck oven. We would easily double our bread capacity and likely be able to triple it allowing us to partner with even more great businesses as well as create new and different types of breads! The sad truth is I’m not sure how much longer our current little guy will last with the use we are throwing at it.

The price I’ve set is the cost to me for a 2 deck Polin bread oven. Basic and really no bells and whistles but to us it would be like a Lamborghini!
