Courtroom drama “A Time To Kill” heading to the TheatreVCU stage in February
Race, crime, violence, and family intersect in this play based on the novel by John Grisham.
TheatreVCU announces the opening of A Time To Kill on February 16, 2017 at the Raymond Hodges Theatre in the W.E. Singleton Performing Arts Center, 922 Park Avenue, Richmond VA. The production runs through February 26, 2017. Based on the novel by John Grisham and adapted by Rupert Holmes, this race-charged courtroom drama has all the power from the film featuring Sandra Bullock, Samuel L. Jackson, and Matthew McConaughey.
Fight Director for the 2013 original Broadway production of A Time To Kill, David Leong brings his incredible directing skills to the story of an African American man, Carl Lee Hailey, who is put on trial for the murder of two white men who savagely beat and raped his ten-year-old daughter. As the trial evolves, this small-town community becomes divided in this tale of race, crime, and family.
