Patrick Harris owner of BOKA announced yesterday that Boka Tavern on Broad Street was closed effective immediately. This is the 7th year of BOKA in Richmond after arriving on the scene with a single taco truck. Boka Bar on Robinson Street and Boka Grill off Forest Hill Ave. will remain open for business.

From the official Press Release:

“We completed more than 170 catering events in 2016; nearly a 50% year over year growth. This was in addition to the regular routes of the 3-BOKA Food Trucks, 3-special event mobile restaurants, and 3 physical locations: Robinson, Forest Hill and Broad. Our growth in catering, corporate fulfillment, late night delivery and an increasing number of area events has threatened to strain staffing, consistency and customer service, especially at our brick & mortar locations. It really was just too much for us to handle in the way our customers have come to expect over the years. It was the right time to re-focus our energy.
