The streets will run red with velvet as SantaCon RVA takes place this Saturday

Put on your best Santa suit and hit the town.

Hundreds of folks plan to dress like Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, elves and God only knows what else and take the streets of Downtown and Shockoe. The main reason is to spread joy and gather in red suits over drinks. The secondary reason is Collecting non-perishible food items to donate to FeedMore. As usual the most needed items are peanut butter, canned tuna/chicken, low sodium veggies, fruits packed in juice, spaghetti sauce (no glass), canned or dry beans, hot & cold cereal and whole grain snacks.

According to the Facebook page the sleigh takes off on Saturday, December 17th, 6 PM at the Capital Ale House Downtown (623 Main Street), slides down for a group photo at the James Center around 7:15 PM, skids into the Southern Railway Taphouse (100 S. 14th Street), before landing at Sine (1327 E. Cary Street) at 9:30 PM.
