City council votes against Reedy Creek restoration

The proposed plan will not move forward.

Last night was the monthly City Council meeting and the Reedy Creek restoration was on the agenda. The proposal to accept $635,000 in state grant funding, basically half the cost, went down in an overwhelming 8-1 vote. Outgoing 4th District Councilwoman Kathy Graziano was the one vote in favor.

It’s a victory for the Reedy Creek Coalition which had fought against the plan since the beginning.

Now we’ll have to see if another effort take place with the support of Reedy Creek Coalition and neighbors to address issues with Reedy Creek and Forest Hill Park Lake.
