RTD reporting Kinsfolk has closed, Laura Lee’s has new executive chef
Changes hit our little pocket of restaurants.
It was a busy weekend on Foodie Corner in Woodland Heights.
Karri Peiffer has both the scoops in this article on Richmond.com.
The restaurant closed Sunday largely due to building maintenance issues, according to co-owner Tiffany Ingram.
“The amount of money the building requires far exceeds what we are pulling in. Despite the fact that we want to stay open, we can’t,” Ingram said in a message to the Times-Dispatch.
There is more information on the changes at Laura Lee’s and good news for fans of The Roosevelt.
Scott Lewis, formerly sous chef at The Roosevelt, takes over the kitchen effective this week.
“Scott is generous and warm-hearted, and that comes through in his cooking,” said Laura Lee’s owner Kendra Feather. “He and I have a great rapport. We’ve known each other for years and he was part of the team that opened The Roosevelt. It’s going to be fun collaborating with him here at Laura Lee’s.”
