Westover Hills Elementary School is in need of instruments
If your dreams of your child performing with the New York Philharmonic have gone the way of the Dodo we’ve got a use for that dusty violin.
The Westover Hills PTA want to fill the hills with the sound of music. Teacher Christina Sienkiewicz recently lead a successful DonorsChoose.org campaign but the school orchestra is still looking for more instruments.
Students at Westover Hills Elementary have the wonderful opportunity to learn a band or orchestra instrument in the 4th and 5th grade. Sadly, very few students are able to purchase or rent their own and the school has none in their inventory.
So, we need your help! Check your attics, call your relatives, did your child decide that the violin was not for them? Consider donating!
We will gladly accept any of the following instruments.
Band:
- Flute
- Clarinet
- Trumpet
- Saxophone
- Baritone
- Euphonium
- Trombone
- Tuba
- Percussion
Orchestra:
- Violin
- Viola
- Cello
- Bass (especially child sized versions!!)
Happy to provide a donation letter upon request. Music has the power to make a profound impact on a young child’s life. Hopefully, note by note, we can make the world a better place.
Please email us at mail@westoverhillsPTA.org or call the school at (804) 780-5002 to schedule a time for us to pick up your instrument or just drop it by the front office any time. Thanks!
