Style Weekly dines at Boka Grill & Growlers

Takos for you mouf and a review for your eyes.

For various reasons my attempts to dine at Boka Grill & Growlers (2557 Shelia Lane) have been thwarted. Having dined a few times at the Fan location I hadn’t felt a pressing need to hit the local spot.

Style Weekly however has succeed where I failed and has this review on Boka Grill & Growlers. The review has inspired me to redouble my admittedly lame efforts and give the spot a try.

But entrees are this Boka’s focus. We dive into a bowl — the Tijuana chicken tinga. More exotic than bowls served by ubiquitous franchises, this one is traditionally Mexican — slightly spicy shredded chicken, plus guacamole, black beans and cheddar, all dressed with a bonus of avocado ranch. The components are a warm and gooey mash-up, sized generously enough to provide for the next day’s lunch.
