Food & Drink
Dining and shopping at Westover Hills Baptist on Friday
Food art. Sometimes commas are important. Food, art.
I posted about the arts and crafts but now let’s talk about the food on Friday.
Join us in the parking lot of Woodland Heights Baptist Church (611 W. 31st St) for a special evening of Food Trucks, Arts & Crafts, and connecting with neighbors and friends. Food Trucks begin serving at 5:30, Woodland Heights (and elsewhere around Richmond) Artists in Residence will open for business at 6:00…and everything will wind down around 8:00. We have five trucks scheduled to appear, and we have 24 artists registered to participate—lots of activity at the corner of 31st and Stonewall.
Fusion takos, jerk chicken, Panamanian empanadas, cheesesteaks, coffees, and pastries.
Leather, jewelry, wood, glass, clay, paper, cloth, gourds, painting, photographs…even pet treats. Handmade and fair trade items, lots of exceptional art by lots of great local artists. Share or like the event posting on the church’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/woodlandheightsbaptistchurch
Scheduled food trucks for this Friday:
- Boka Tako Truck — Asian-Mexican-American fusion takos with French technique and seasonal menus.
- Dank Eats — Our focus is funky fresh fusion pitas like our jerk chicken shwarma with curry sweet potato fries, grilled pineapple, and cilantro lime aioli or our cheesesteak pita with wasabi aioli.
Happy Empanada— Serving gourmet empanadas and authentic Panamanian and Latin American cuisine.
Hollywood Cheesesteaks — Authentic Philadelphia style cheesesteaks served on fresh, local baked bread from Lucille’s Bakery. Richmond’s real cheesesteak!… and for dessert…
- Espresso-A-Go-Go — Gourmet coffees, pastries, and more.
It promises to be a great night in Woodland Heights—eat a bit, talk a bit, shop a bit…and repeat. Hope to see you there.
