Photos: Throat Punch Thursday MTB Races at the Carrillon

This Thursday is the last in a series of mountain bike races near the Carrillon/Barker Field put on by RVA Racing. The races are called Throat Punch for a reason. The course which varies each week is short but doesn’t lack in tight turns, quick downhills and vicious uphills. This is all compounded by how short the races are, only roughly a half hour to prove your mettle. Registration is closed but hit that link above to see all the other races RVA Racing holds throughout the year. Not put on by RVA Racing but locally we’ve got two more criterium road races at Bryan Park tonight and next Tuesday. After those races wrap up, Sorry Honey I’ve Gotta Work Late cyclocross races return to Forest Hill Park, September 8th. Get on your bike and race or spectate.
