Fat Dragon closed due to flooding from Sunday’s storms

UPDATE: The restaurant has reopened as of noon on Monday.

Fat Dragon Chinese Kitchen & Bar in Scott’s Addition is closed until further notice following severe flooding from Sunday afternoon storms that rolled through the city.

A photo posted to the restaurant’s social accounts showed staff walking through a flooded interior, with Arthur Ashe Boulevard and West Leigh Street visibly flooded outside. Radar estimates indicate parts of the City of Richmond received almost 1.5 inches of rain in under an hour as a slow-moving storm deluged the area.

According to staff, the restaurant has flooded multiple times since its opening in 2012. No word on the damage or when Fat Dragon may reopen.
