CarMax Park, the future home of the Richmond Flying Squirrels, will feature a dedicated, full-service events company called 804Live, organizers announced this week. The company will manage and program year-round entertainment and community events for the new stadium, which is scheduled to open in 2026.

With a projected capacity of over 14,000 for concerts and major events, CarMax Park is positioned to become Richmond’s largest entertainment venue. 804Live will oversee a wide range of event types—from intimate corporate gatherings and weddings to full-scale concerts, boxing matches, and multi-day festivals.

“CarMax Park is the cutting-edge, modernized, versatile ballpark that the City of Richmond has long deserved,” said Lou DiBella, Managing Partner of the Richmond Flying Squirrels. He added that 804Live aims to attract “some of the biggest and best musical acts” while also collaborating with local partners and city officials to position the venue as a regional cultural hub.

Experienced leadership behind 804Live

DiBella, who will remain actively involved with 804Live, brings decades of experience in sports and entertainment, including a Hall of Fame career in boxing promotion. He launched DiBella Entertainment in 2000 after a long tenure at HBO Sports.

Ted Van Zelst will serve as President of 804Live, bringing leadership experience from major organizations including the Detroit Pistons, NASCAR, and WWE. Jeffrey Chabon joins as Booking Director with a background at AEG Presents, San Antonio’s Alamodome, and Nashville’s GEODIS Park. Meredith Greenberg, a longtime collaborator with DiBella, will serve as Managing Director. Jordan Hook, formerly with the Flying Squirrels’ special events team, has been named Events Manager.

Flexible spaces for every event size

CarMax Park will include several event-ready spaces designed for both public and private functions. The Atlantic Union Bank Lounge will serve as a flagship venue within the stadium, with more than 6,000 square feet of indoor event space and nearly 200 exterior seats. The venue is equipped with theatrical lighting, advanced audiovisual systems, and streaming capabilities.

Other rentable areas at CarMax Park include the City View Suite, Home Plate Club, Dugout Suites, Power Alley Terrace, Bullpen Rail, The Yard, and The Patio.

The official website for booking inquiries and event information is 804Live.com.
